Oil Products

Crude Oil

Crude is the essence of the oil industry. It is from this base that Triton launched itself into oil trading in 1969 by signing its purchase contract of Venezuelan, Nigerian and Saudi crude. Currently, Triton trades mostly from an "on spot" basis with established markets and currently have several term contracts pending.

Most of our crude oil contracts are offered against tenders to refineries on direct sale, processing or buyback products.

Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) and Natural Gas (NG)

Global society’s increasing awareness of and concern for the natural environment is engineering one of the most visible and significant changes in the way oil producers and traders do business, spurring unprecedented efforts to produce clean energy and transport that energy with as minimal risk to the environment as possible.

The Caribbean boasts one of the world’s most pristine but also must vulnerable environmental patrimonies. It is perhaps thus inevitable that Triton, a Caribbean organization, would be acutely concerned about environmental issues and committed to greater involvement in the trading of clean energy products.

LNG is fast becoming the clean energy commodity of the future and Triton has already begun to lay the ground work for imminent insertion into the trading of this commodity by working jointly with long time existing customers who are seeking to move away from traditional energy to LNG. Triton is in the market for the sale and distribution of NG to industries, power plants and municipalities and is currently investigating the possibilities of partnering in the development of other LNG receiving terminals, in the Caribbean and further afield. We are also working with our partners in the Middle East and Russia who are seeking to satisfy supply to meet their ever-growing demand of these products.

Fuel Oil

Currently, we are trading both high and low sulphur grades on a regular basis. In recent years, we have become increasingly active due to the higher sales in the Eastern Mediterranean, where our main focus has been the low sulphur grade.

Trading opportunities have been further expanded through our term supplies in different areas from the Caribbean to the Far East, which in turn have directly increased our trading activities in the Fuel Oil worldwide areas. The Red Sea and Arab regions have also been the major source of supply for straight run fuel for Triton’s trading book.

In the Far East, the base of our operation is in Dubai, which is home to an affiliate operated storage terminal, from where cargoes are shipped worldwide. The region has an overall shortage of fuel oil and we are working closely with the national and major oil companies to meet their requirements, and to seek new opportunities to expand our business.
